There is easy access to the historic market town of Richmond with its Georgian theatre, ancient castle, golf course, swimming pool and a selection of shops, pubs and tea rooms.

Just beyond this town lies the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are some lovely walks along the River Swale and the village also enjoys 3 pubs, some of which serve food.
